Star Wars VII

Now that I have seen The Avengers already this year, there is only one movie running through my mind right now, Star Wars VII – The Force Awakens.

I have been waiting all my life to actually see a Star Wars movie on the big screens and it is finally becoming a reality. Not much is known about the plot or the characters, but that is one of the best parts for me. Nowadays if you go online or watch a trailer to a movie, you basically know everything there is to know about that movie and the experience in the cinema is not as great. With this movie however, I still do not know much of what is going on.
The trailers have made this movie look amazing as well. They had the task of showing us the movie without showing much of the plot or revealing a few characters and they actually achieved that. I have lost count of how many times I have watched the trailer.

The film’s director, JJ Abrams has also made it a point to use as many practical effects as he can. This is a great contrast to most big budget movies today. It makes the movie look a lot more believable and not like a cartoon.

I am also exited because of the cast this movie possesses. The main characters are being played by virtual nobodies, who have not done many movies yet, but with them come the likes of Oscar Isaacs (X-Men Apocalypse), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) and Brandon Gleeson (Harry Potter). These actors will bring a lot of experience and quality to this movie, especially Andy Serkis. Besides these actors, Original Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are returning for the movie.

All in all, I am obviously very excited and cannot wait for this film.
